I'm a great employer. I pay very well, great benefits, don't micromanage. I have lost nannies to: pregnancy/wanting to be a SAHM, moving for spouse's job, retirement, and a physical health issue. Life happens. Would you stay in the same job for 10 years, even if it paid well? No, people have lives and lives sometimes necessitate a change to one's job. The idea that you a need to or can "keep" a nanny for a decade plus is frankly a little creepy.

I have been a math teacher in the same school for over 25 years. Same classroom even. I finished my doctorate and still wanted to just keep teaching (not do administrative stuff).
+1. I’ve been a pediatrician in the same office for going on 18 years with no plans to leave for another 18 years at least.
+2. My dentist, family lawyer, veterinarian, gyno, and kids pediatricians have all been in the same job for over 20 years! The woman who owns the preschool all my kids went to has been in the same job for 15 years. My hair stylist has had the same job for over ten years. I’m a freelance writer and I’ve had the same career (all stories are different but the mechanisms are the same) for over 25 years.
And our lovely nanny has been with us for ten plus years with no plans to retire.
All of those people own their own businesses. Do you not see the difference? They're not employees.

Nannies are humans. Not subjects or property. What a disgusting post... i didnt know people stillchad the slave owner mentality. Very telling.
