Oh no it’s good guys with guns …what a load of BS. What a bunch of liars.

For every AR-15 you need about 10 good guys with handguns. It's not even taking into account effing body armor

Why do policemen always support and vote for Republican politicians who want to put an AR-15 in everyone’s hand—including 18 year olds? I don’t get it at all.

Not the rank and file, but there was some pushback among police chiefs against the GOP for letting the federal assault weapons ban expire in 2004. It was ignored.

Yes, the proliferation of guns in the population makes law enforcement much riskier and deadly for everyone. Everyone.

We have to stop the arms race.

If they were too cowardly to go in to stop the shooter with all of their fancy gear and weapons, they should have at least let the parents go in to try to save their babies. Why are we funding police if they won’t even try to save kids being shot at school?? Un-freaking-real and makes me sick to my stomach.

This is what disgusts me the most (on top of this already disgusting situation). You stop parents from trying to save their kids? The cops go in to save their kids and then force parents to STAND OUTSIDE while their kids are murdered? It is so sick I can’t imagine having the will to live as one of those cops. That should haunt their thoughts forever.

They most definitely should not be legal.

+1 After Columbine, American police strategy in response to mass shootings like this changed, and the goal became to respond and confront the shooter as fast as possible. This is basic knowledge for every cop. Even under the cops’ own rules, they absolutely failed here.

How many cops with body armor, ar-15s, and training are needed to stop one 18 year old with an ar-15, no training and no body armor? None, it takes an unarmed middle aged doctor, an armed senior citizen mall cop, or an off duty border patrol agent to do anything.

Maybe because the cops were in the wrong here? The kid had NO BODY ARMOR and raced past cops and a SRO. They let him gun down a classroom for 90 minutes without breaching and even when they got in - they managed to get a victim killed by telling them to call out??

They didnt even breach, CBP did. The local cops were somewhere between useless and part of the problem

To be fair, there was reporting saying some cops did breach the perimeter to rescue their own children while waiting for some good guys with guns to show up.

Have you ever heard of the fog of war?

Doubtful the cops knew exactly what was happening as the situation was unfolding in real time. It's so easy to sit there behind a computer screen with 20/20 hindsight.

Keep spinning the BS. They train on this in these schools all the time. There was one guy with a gun killing 2nd and 3rd graders. Unarmed teachers were laying their bodies down to buy time. If the cops had rushed in the killer would have to try to kill the cops instead on ten children.

Do you know who knew what was going on those poor little kids and teachers?.
And the men and women who are paid to protect them failed them dearly. That includes the cops, the mayor and the governor.
If cops don't want to engage in AR-15, you don't think that should be illegal to have one

The fog of war? An 18-year-old with an AR-15 people like you INSIST HE SHOULD HAVE was their only opponent.

They left him inside a classroom with 20+ defenseless children and rescued their own kid. If they were in the military they'd be tried for abandoning their posts.

If we're at war with our own civilians because we allow them AR-15s, you don't think that's a problem

Back the Blue! Thin Blue Line! So Heroic!

Do we think a lawsuit will come from the victim's families?

Oh gd yes. They are getting sued to the hilt and they are going to pay out.

Here's the thing - they will need to sue their own police department and municipality. Local taxes on the victims will just go up to pay out the damages. The police budget will probably go up after this pathetic show of cowardice.
