The problem for Hans is that by 2026 he’ll be forgotten or just irrelevant. Just think about Berliner, Floreen and Leventhal. The idea that any one of those three would be viable candidates in 2022 is ridiculous.
That's kind of what I like about Elrich. He's at the end of his career (Whether this year or in four more years) and then he'll retire. He's not running for Governor or Congress. You may disagree with how he is running the county, but running the county is his primary focus and not a stepping stone to something else. Riemer and Blair are in it for their resumes. None of what Elrich is doing is a political calculation, to a fault. He's a terrible politician, but that's how he wins... being authentic, and rallying up the unions and the old hippies. He knows he couldn't win anywhere else. Again, you may not like him, but what you see is 100% what you get.

I don't even want to vote for Blair, but I cannot get over how Riemer has run a campaign that seems 100% negative at every turn, starting with the moment he began his last term as a council member.
If you think Riemer’s weak attacks on his opponents are negative, imagine how negative Riemer’s campaign would be if he ran on his own record.
What record?
Riemer’s record of ineffective corporate giveaways, deteriorating public safety, slipping schools, slow job and wage growth, higher housing prices, etc. That’s his legacy here.
Hans Riemer is living proof that race and class privilege are real.
But he has a guitar placed prominently in the room where he Zooms! He's a commoner, for sure.....

And Elrich and Riemer do?
Riemer has a personality, but it's a turn off. Elrich doesn't have a big personality. There's an opening here for Blair to show just a hint of charisma.
