This isn't true AT ALL. These women face extreme jealousy from a small handful of uneducated obese women who are getting mistreated by their men who they are desperate for money from. EVERYONE ELSE thinks they are a good match. There is nothing advantageous about marrying an abuser for money if you already aren't poor. Sorry there is no catch-22--welcome to 2022.Anonymous wrote:We as a society seem to loathe women who are openly seeing advantageous matches. However, we encourage women to seek out men who are established professionally and financially. A woman with a graduate degree who marries a a wall mart cash register worker is considered to have made an imprudent match, but if a woman is too obvious about marrying for money, she is ridiculed.
So the only way to do it is to secretly marry for money where you pretend to just end up married to a rich man!
You value the guy for his money: gold digger
Based on your response, you are not only poor but also stupid.

This. Full stop.
No, but we loathe golddiggers.
I wish this were true, but if that’s the case why do we also blame women when they marry poor men?
Who do you mean by “we”? Yes there are snarky people in every crowd who will always find a reason to blame a woman or a man for anything. If you think that those people constitute “society,” you have issues.

Most of the male gold-digging that I have seen is from men who date and marry women with wealthy fathers. A few have even admitted it.
Ooh! Good point. I forgot about that, but I've dated guys who admitted to me they would never get serious with any woman who didn't come from money. (Me!) This is definitely a thing.
But the question is, does he also come from money. "Has money and will only marry money" is not gold-digging.
Kinda is
Of course it's not. We both come from money and, looking at our friends and family, they all married people with similar backgrounds.
