This isn't true AT ALL. These women face extreme jealousy from a small handful of uneducated obese women who are getting mistreated by their men who they are desperate for money from. EVERYONE ELSE thinks they are a good match. There is nothing advantageous about marrying an abuser for money if you already aren't poor. Who do you mean by “we”? Yes there are snarky people in every crowd who will always find a reason to blame a woman or a man for anything. If you think that those people constitute “society,” you have issues.
The people here, sure, but I would say the government reflects society, no? And the government absolutely penalizes women for marrying poor men when it comes to social support.

It’s really just not a thing in the way people mean it here. It’s either a man who can’t date the women he feels entitled to because they’d prefer someone successful (with the various other correlated aspects) or a woman who consciously or subconsciously envies the lives lived by other women who chose more successful partners.
