Not sure of the percentage of relationships that result in marriage, but we do know nearly of half of all marriages end in divorce. So the odds of any relationship turning into a forever marriage are quite low. Therefore, I'm not sure if it makes sense to withhold sex for a set amount of time in hopes of it resulting in a happy forever marriage. Do whatever you are comfortable with.
Exactly - correlation but not causation.
Half of all marriages do not end divorce please update your stats.

The issue with this is that many of us feel pretty crappy with one night stands.
Sex is so highly intimate. It takes a while for me to build up that level of trust.

The “kids” these days don’t date. The hook up culture is insane. This is the order: sex first. Then maybe you find out their name. Then maybe you exchange texts. Then maybe you hook up again.
Lol maybe your daughter approaches relationships like this but not every kid is broken
Geez. Why so sex negative? As long as everyone is safe and enjoying themselves then everything is fine. Women deserve to be able to explore their sexuality and learn what works for them so they can avoid marrying someone who they are not sexually compatible with. Otherwise they'll end up posting their frustrations on this forum like so many others.
Np here. But it's actually you who are sex negative. If you've met anyone of this generation practicing the let's jump into sex thin they aren't exactly happy with it. That's because sex was never supposed to be a handshake. That's not to say you need to wait for marriage or that women should be restricted from exploring their sexuality or whatever nonsense you're spewing but we've[u] tried the hook up culture thing for sometime now it's not working.
Who is the "we've" here? I know plenty of people enjoying casual sex. Shoot, I've been married 12 years to someone I slept with the first time we hung out. It wasn't even an actual date.

I do believe in the general “rules” of dating, but I also think with the right person suddenly none of the rules apply!
