What? Do they just shuffle principals around?

Wilson is obviously a promotion from Eastern. Wilson also is well served by a principal who has dealt with DCPS before and with a someone who has been a principal of a HS before. If the principal of Eastern is good, this is a great hire.

Yes, Principal Brown just sent his letter to the Eastern HS community. He's going to Jackson-Brown. Our loss, he's been great.

Where is the MacFarland principal going? Any ideas on who will replace him?

I really liked the principal at Macfarland. I’m disappointed to hear he is leaving. I’m also curious to know where he is going/why he is leaving and who will replace him

All I have been able to find out is that he's leaving DCPS. :/

How did the search meeting go.for Wells?

The community panel for the Wells candidates went well. I was happiest that all the panel members were on the same page in terms of priorities (keep the SEM cluster model as foundational to the curriculum, relating with diverse communities, etc.). The culture of Wells is really strong (especially for a new school) and the panel wanted to be sure it didn't change.

Thanks!

I wish I knew which of the leaving principals were bad principals. Having not been in a school building in two years-plus, I have no idea now.

The Principal at Cleveland ES is also leaving.

Some principals make teachers burnout with their presence. When my school didn’t have one we all came together and it was a much less toxic environment. Strangely you can certainly run a ship without a captain, the crew is the most important part.

But not to say all of them are horrible. Some are wonderful and set a great vision for the school.
