Probably missing some but they're what come to mind, ppl also do non-competitive clubs for computer science or independent research

Pretty sure the kids who did Science Olympiad for TJ weren’t freshmen. So the question of the Admissions process isn’t relevant here.

The competitions are not that big a deal because 1) there are so damn many of them so TJ’s talent base gets spread out incredibly thin and 2) TJ students get way more into competing with each other than they do with competing with other schools.

This is a great example of why I've been saying for years that TJ should bring in a greater number of students from the middle school program at LBSS. Their students are almost always some of the most well-rounded and well-adjusted at TJ and their parents tend to be supportive of all areas of the school. They contribute a great deal to the overall school environment and it's refreshing to see them get a win like this.

This is just more proof that the old admission policy just wasn't working. It was so gamed that many of the best and brightest who don't spend thousands on prep are overlooked and end up at regular schools while only wealthy and over prepped get into TJ these days.

I think LB is just built different this year.
