I will say this for Wake Forest, I spent part of a high school summer in an on campus program there and the students are gorgeous. I went to the U of C and the students are...not (myself included).

Because US News told you so? Wake is an stellar school, with far superior weather and 1000x safer surroundings than the Chicago warzone UofC is in.
Yes, but also because of the number of Nobel laureates in UChicago (at least 94) compared with 0 (?) in Wake Forest.
I hate hearing parents talkginna iut Nobel laureates. You know that in academics, they don’t give you the award until like at least ten years after your significant work. These laureates are old and non teaching. When they reached, they don’t teach intro classes.
And Chicago is better? Why the ranking said so?
Oh yeah, economics. Well, only the ftad program mattered.
So go to Wake Forest, have a good time and if you have beef left in you, go to graduate school. Otherwise, go enjoy cold, windy, crime centered, and super competitive and needy place called UChicago, because youth is wasted if you don’t spend every minute in studying.
Chicago has one of the strongest set of social science departments in the world. Economics for undergrads = Top 4. Political science for undergrads = Top 10. Psychology = Top 15.
And regardless of whether they're Nobel Laureates or not, the "big named" professors DO teach at Chicago.
“Top” according to who? Nobody in real life gives a damn about undergrad program ranks. Most people have never even heard of UChicago. You sound like a College Confidential lunatic. High off your own supply, parroting the same pointless talking points for years on end.

DP. If most people have never heard of UChicago, absolutely no one has heard of Wake Forest. It has zero lay prestige and zero academic prestige.
It's a Division 1 team in a major conference with a pretty successful basketball program of course people have heard of it. Tim Duncan played there. That might no mean anything in terms of whether people care about your degree, but people know the name.

Because you went to both?![]()
They're in the same tier. Both full of smart rich kids. The end.

This is OP. Pre-Law, Economics, Poly-Sci, Government, International Affairs - along those lines.
Easily U. Chicago. Chicago is historically dominant in Economics, has one of the best law schools in the country (although I doubt Pre-law is a major), and is probably strong in the remaining social sciences as well.
I can imagine someone picking Wake Forest but on social life alone. It's Southern, Greek Life dominant, etc. etc. Meaning you have to not only be a wealthy WASP, but a wealthy Southern WASP. Wealthy WASP from DC suburbs does not count.
Curious how pp has personal knowledge one has to be Southern wasp but not wasp from dc?
In reality, Wake has a good number of kids from all over country including g dc suburbs.
