Sure, but most women aren’t looking for “men”. They’re looking for someone with certain attributes and those men tend to also be seeming certain attributes. It’s very easy to find someone who doesn’t have anything other than looks in mind but that’s not usually the best choice of partner (for men or women).

There is a threshold of attractiveness but honestly it’s not one that can’t be achieved with exercise, cosmetics and orthodontia. For men who want a certain kind of household they will need a wife from a similar background, probably an elite school, likely from a wealthy family. That is not the majority of men, though.

I don’t think they really think about it much. They just want their personal lives to run smoothly without much thought or effort on their part. It’s like what a lot of brides want for their wedding day, but it’s every day.

Some women are like this too, but I think they are recognized as anomalies. Otherwise normal, nice, ordinary men just sort of expect that things will go smoothly without them having to do anything.
