Post-college--this girl was not just messy but dirty. She would just leave whatever she had used on the floor--dishes, utensils, maxi pads (yes!) just on the floor. We ended up with flies in the apartment and at one point ran out of forks because they were in her room. Total nut!

Likely a victim of child sexual abuse … these are all trauma responses.

Sometimes, but she claimed she had a sleeping disorder so it would happen even when she was sober. I’m dying to know if she still does this - she’s married.

Post-college I moved into my now DH's 2 bedroom apartment he shared with his older brother. His brother's girlfriend recently moved out for a job opportunity in another city, and I spent most nights there anyway, so we agreed it all made sense to make it official and help defray shared expenses.

His brother 'preferred' to take care of the bill so we'd pay him our portion of everything due each month and he took care of the rest, or so he said. It wasn't long before we came home to find a past due rent noticed attached to the door. BIL claimed it must be a mistake and promised to contact the leasing office. Time went by and then we got another past due notice. Then one day we came home and our cable and intent had been cut off. Another time we arrived home after work to no power because - shocker - he didn't pay that bill either. The entire time he took our money he never applied any of it to our rent or bills. He always had an excuse and tried to make light of living without for a few days until he got his next paycheck and could cover the overdue bills.

Needless to say we announced that we were moving out to our own place at the end of the lease. He acted completely shocked and threw a huge tantrum about us leaving him in the lurch. Because it was family, things unfortunately got a little more awkward than we would have liked. To this day I still think my inlaws hold a grudge against me and fault me for breaking up the brothers.

Post-college: (I just posted about this on the Entertainment board on the Worst Roommate Ever thread)

She dated her ex-bf in secret along with a new bf. The ex-bf started to get suspicious and showed up at our apartment one night. I still don't know how/why he got suspicious, but he ended up climbing over the railing of our apartment stairway onto our balcony and breaking into our apartment through the sliding glass door. Prior to that he was pounding on the door and yelling. Her room was farther from the front door than mine and she claimed to me she didn't hear the yelling prior to him breaking in.

Anyway, once inside he found her in her room snuggled up with the new bf. Ex-bf and new bf had a huge fight, smashing into walls and furniture. I kept hearing "I'm going to fking kill you" and couldn't tell which guy it was, so I ended up hiding in my closet with 911 punched in, ready to hit dial. It was terrifying. (I will add - I was terrified b/c the ex-bf was kind of a redneck with lots of guns, so I didn't know if he'd brought a gun with him).

I do not know HOW she did it, but my roommate convinced new bf that ex-bf was crazy and she'd not been dating him at the same time. They've been married now for like 10 years and have 3 kids.

Our lease was up in 6 months after that incident but I ended up moving back home with my parents and paying rent on an empty apartment to get away from the crazy.

This was not the only incident of her dating multiple guys at once. She also dated the same ex bf, the now husband, AND a guy from her work all at the same time at one point.

Other acts of crazy: prior to the fight between the ex bf and new bf, she found out she was pregnant. She didn't which guy was the dad. The new bf found out on accident about the pregnancy and was very excited - he even told his parents. He had NO idea that my roommate did not want the baby and was actively trying to cause a miscarriage. This was because the state we lived in didn't have a Planned Parenthood anywhere near us and the cost for an abortion was extremely high due to it being a southern, bible belt state. Something she did/ate/drank worked and she had a miscarriage. The worst part is that she milked the crap out of it. When the bf found out, he rushed her to the ER and his parents rushed into town, etc. they were ecstatic that she was pregnant. I think the miscarriage and ER visit is probably what caused the ex bf to find out about her dating another guy. The city we lived in was small and even though the ex bf lived in the city next to ours, the hospital was in our city. The hospital was also one of the biggest employers in that area, so it's pretty likely that someone who knew the ex bf saw her in the ER and the reason and told him.

I have done everything in my power to NEVER have another roommate after dealing with her.

Nope. I don't lose things. I'm still using the lefty scissors my mom got me in 2nd grade, for example. She stole to mess with me.

My freshman year roommate frequently snorted cocaine off of my laptop which was annoying (and I have no idea why that was her preferred surface), but the thing that annoyed me most was when she ate my black and white cookie that I bought and was saving for after finals. Agh, still chaps my you know what.
