Downton was hugely popular and was watched by more people than Bridgerton. But even Downton had its own sex scene, albeit off screen.
Downtown took 3-4 seasons to get to the level of cult popularity it has today.
Bridgerton did it in one. So did Outlander btw.
Downton was hugely popular from the get-go. It turned Julian Fellowes into an overnight star, along with most of the cast. I'm sure it became even more popular as time went on, but not 3-4 seasons to hit its stride. The first season was a phenomenal success and launched it as a global phenomena.

Bridgerton took off bc the duke was hot af. The sex scenes were barely much of anything and lasted less than 5 mins. It took until the end of the season to get there too.

So, no, Kate and Anthony’s “Bridgerton” arc isn’t as outright sensual as the one that preceded it. But in the precious moments that find them entangled despite all their better instincts, they’re seductive all the same.

In the second book the marriage takes place further toward the end than in the first, but still not at the very end. So yes, there will likely be sex scenes between the main pair as well as secondary characters.
