When we were 40 and had three young children once was fine for both of us. We were very in to foreplay…and still are….and most of my orgasms did not involve PIV so I had no need for a second round and he always seemed pretty happy after round one. We are now in our late 50’s and once is fine.

I’m very happy that my husband is one and done because so am I now that I’m 54.

For most of my teen through adult life, in my 60s now, if properly motivated, 5 minutes for round 2 and maybe 10 for a third. For the most part those time frames didn't apply when the action continued.

My DH is 44 and can probably do a second round without much recovery but I don’t encourage it. He’s LARGE and like someone mentioned above you could hang a heavy coat on him when he’s at attention. He usually lasts 45 - 60 minutes for piv. By the time he’s done I’m sore, exhausted and ready for a nap.

Like many things, there is likely a bell curve of 40 year old men's refractory period. I don't think enough study has been done to know what the mean refractory period is for 40 year old men. But surely some 40 year old men are ready to go within an hour. Yours isn't so can you live with that? Maybe he could use other parts of his body or a toy in the mean time until he is ready to go, assuming it doesn't take more than 90 minutes/2 hours/however long you're willing to wait.

If I ejaculate on a normal day (no external factors making me tired, etc.), then I'll normally be back in action within 15 minutes. I may not be able to ejaculate immediately, but that way I can last a lot longer.
