Lots of friends we know have sent their kids to HTS and several of our physicians have sent their children there as well. All say their children were well-prepared for high school and beyond. The majority of their children went on to Catholic high schools because they wanted to give their multiple children a solid moral foundation at an affordable pricepoint in the DMV. We looked at HTS but realized we were likely not Catholic enough to do it but our impression was that it was a solid school infused with the values of the Jesuits.

At least she’s praying for them. Gotta admit that reputation is earned.

Agree. Have warned my incoming Visi daughter to steer clear of these girls. They all clump together anyhow so easy to avoid. Thankfully they are outnumbered by an overwhelmingly larger incoming group of smarter, kinder girls who have moms with impressive careers and more class. I will pray for them.

What are you teaching by telling your daughter she is better than another 9th grader because you have a more impressive career than her peer's mom? I would not call this "class." It sounds like you experienced some bullying and that is not right, but I don't think this is the appropriate lesson.

If you mean outplacement to independent Catholic high schools, HT has no special advantage. If you mean non-Catholic independents that rarely happens.

+1 I don't understand why OP thinks kids from Catholic parochial schools would apply to non Catholic private high schools. It happens, sure, but it is rare, and even then it is often not the first choice.

bc Catholics are actually normal people. the thinly veiled Catholic hate on this forum is something I have never seen before. I am not even practicing but wow. Catholics are not some crazy fundamentalist super cult obssessed w religion. There was a whole schism those who got upset they could not reform the chirch to be such broke away. The nuttiest of the bunch came to america. Good work ethic tho.

The hate comes from the fact MAGA has grown and flourished in Catholic schools

The hate also comes from Catholic Church supporters who fund lawsuits against survivors of childhood abuse by priests

The Catholic Church is not a monolith. What are your sources for MAGA flourishing in Catholic Schools? I sure haven’t seen that.

I’ve been in multiple parishes in different cities, and I’ve yet to encounter anyone suing abuse victims or supporting such an action. Again, please present sources with actual numbers.
