The new process opened seats to kids across FCPS -- even low-income middle schools. TJ is a regional resource - it wasn't set aside for a few wealthy middle schools.
The seats were already open to those students. FCPS just decided to ignore merit and set aside seats to students more likely to be Black, Hispanic or low-income, while making clear the intent was to reduce Asian enrollment, in violation of the Constitution.
