I’m also a millennial and use them weekly. It’s actually so good for keeping track of expenses.

But these businesses probably prefer not paying these fees. And yes the fees are that bad. Inflation impacts this too.

My therapist only takes checks, so I use 4 a month on her. Takoma Soccer only takes checks, so that's 2 a year. Other than that, just for fun, I went through my bank account and saw exactly one other check written in the last year, a charitable donation to a tiny charity.

OP, you've also heard of money orders, right? They still exist, too. Just "checking."

Within the last month: a check to renew passports (to the State Department) - I used a credit card for the post office's fees

I'm guessing in the last month, I've used 7 checks for the above. There were probably more but that's what I can recall. I use Venmo many times each week and use my credit card all the time.

Today. The Tae Kwon Do place only takes cash or checks to pay for testing. I feel like a lot of kid activities occasionally require checks.

I have them and use them maybe nice or twice a month. Some service people ask for them — plumber, electrician, lawn service, etc.

Dentist office, kids Field trip, and Dominion energy. Three to four checks average every month.

I use them them frequently to pay monthly bills by mail. Probably a sign that I am 80.

Wrote two checks just a few days ago to add $$ to my kid’s 529 accounts. I also use them for service providers at my house (I.e., the electrician) who don’t have the ability to take a credit card payment (as others have pointed out).

I have strong memories of my mom writing checks to Giant growing up. But towards the end of her doing that, they had a printer they would run them through that printed the whole check for you, you just had to sign it.

Also she'd go to the drive through teller and write a check to "cash" to get money out. Seems like such a huge hassle now! Ha.

You kind of still have to do this! It’s a withdrawal slip but you have to write out the number and everything.

No, I request new payment dates for any that are "odd" dates and keep them all grouped... 1st, 15th, 21st. I also have autobill on pretty much everything. I have a spreadsheet and I check off each bill once I get the payment notification.
