No, all voters can vote in all of the races, both district and at-large seats. Top two vote-getters advance to the general. Unless there are only two candidates, in which case there is no primary, only a general election in November.

Gimme a break. People are excited to learn more about the ES teacher that's running against her. It's a pretty big stretch to accuse us of hating teachers when the person we're likely to vote for is LITERALLY a teacher.

I can't stand her because :

- her priorities seem wrong (urgent emergency meeting to give central an extra week, but keeping the meeting schedule after CDC changed guidance)
- Aloof attitude towards learning loss ("I don't see what the big deal is losing a few instructional days")
- Bullying / Unprofessional behavior (the debacle with the voting/motioning/etc)

I could continue. But I've seen enough of her that I'm going to give her opponent the benefit of the doubt and listen to her with an open mind. Her opponent would have to have some pretty crazy ideas to lose my vote

Why is she a union shill? She probably knows more about schools than the rest of the board put together, and 1000% more than Steve Austin, who flounced up north to Frederick.

Anyone backed by the teachers union is a union shill. They will expect her to support their positions on the BOE in exchange for their endorsement which, unfortunately, still carries a lot of weight in Montgomery County. I think most parents have woken up to the toxic nature of MCEA's effect on the schools. But most people without kids still have no idea and simply vote for whomever is on the Apple ballot.

I get it, but I’m willing to take a chance on her over Wolff at this point. And the fact that she has more recent experience in MCPS is a plus for me, some of the current members are out of touch.

At the very least, I'll be open minded with her. FWIW, I completely agree with her that the BOE and MCPS has not paid enough attention to elementary students for a long time. This goes back to before COVID, but their pandemic response highlighted that.

Elementary kids should have been back in Sept 2020, even if MS or HS kids had to wait longer
