Blocking traffic I generally don't support beyond a slow roll, but if they want to park up on the Mall, block entrances to buildings, etc. I'm all for it.
Yep +1. Truckers in the US live in red states and generally aren’t subject to a lot of COVID regs right now. The beauty of a democratic republic. I’m all for it and support them 100% but expect this to be a nothing-burger. Hilarious how much the mainstream media is trying to make it seem like some impending disaster though. Wouldn’t expect less. Keep doing what you’re doing lefties, clearly working!![]()

So, you want them to block access to the free museums in DC? The ones I take my kids to?

Agree. DC is just not going to put up with this. And rightly so.
What will you be doing about it?

Hope y'all are proud to have your movement led by a guy who's literally a criminal scumbag.
Who are you even talking to? I doubt there are many truckers on this website. It's not "our movement" - but they have every right to protest, wouldn't you agree? Sure you would.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:What exactly are they protesting?
Vaccine mandates
Mask Mandates
Trump’s stolen election
Probably CRT
It seems to be amorphous right wing grievances.
What mandates?
OP here. They aren’t actually that specific. Maybe they too are confusing about FCPS’s maybe mask mandate?
They are tired of the pandemic (aren’t we all). They think Trump won (he didn’t). And rather than accepting that life has sucked for most of the planet for two years and sometimes you lose elections, they are hosting an undereducated white male grievance fest. Apparently on the beltway. What interesting is that the funding, even for the Canadian protests is murky, and there seems to be a lot of astroturfing. And, of course, FB (sorry, Meta) is letting them organize on their platform.

Why shouldn't they organize on FB - or anywhere else? I thought you were all about non-violent, peaceful protests? I guess only the ones you agree with.

Per NBCWasington:
“We’re challenging the high prices of fuel,” he said. Bolus said they are also protesting vaccine mandates, critical race theory and people in jail facing charges related to the Capitol insurrection.
Wait. Seriously?
Seriously. Basically, the are protesting the fact white men now have to compete on merit. And they have none.

Are you all for that only when you support the cause, or for any protesters protesting any issues? Why or why not, be specific.
Exactly this.
You do realize that can be turned right around on you, yes? You're all for protests - when it's a cause YOU deem righteous.

Maybe. But Youngkin is so green and so incompetent. He just doesn’t understand the whole governing thing. He’s going to be slow to do things like mobilize the guard. It increases the chance that things get out of hand in VA. (also, he like to cause chaos in NoVA, so there that’.
Hogans may be an R. But, he did the right things during the insurrection.
What a stupid comment. Youngkin called a state of emergency in VA prior to the last big snowstorm. He had VDOT ready and waiting. He wasn't slow at all - he was efficient and fast. I have no doubt he'll react quickly to this issue as well.

What big snowstorm? We got not much here since his inaguration.
Plus, Snowstorms aren’t political. It will be interesting to see whether Little Trumpkin has the Guard stand down and sticks it to NoVA (CIA and Pentagon access, etc). He wants to run for POTUS. Mobilizing and arresting the “Freedom Convoy” doesn’t get it done. Quite a dilemma for Mr. Youngkin. I’ll enjoy watching him squirm.
