I assume you started this thread in jest a bit. Obviously your child will get into college and succeed there. I do think the SAT is a bit low for College Park . Has she done a test prep program? If not, do one, then take the SAT again. Her GPA is good, I think you just need to get the SAT up a bit for Freshman Connection admit. She will be able to get into any other MD state school and then transfer back to College Park if she really doesn't like it. College admissions is very different now, it is worth the time educating yourself a bit. But your kid is not low stats, and will have many options.

Is DCUM your only source of college counseling? This site is often skewed.

There are plenty if colleges in US and for-profit privates and off the road state school branches are struggling to keep enrollment up, if open to all options and no big red flag in resume, its just not possible not to have several options. If nothing else, its much easier and cheaper to do furst ine ir two years at a community college and then transferring to a 4 year college. Actually its much easier because most universities have programs to enroll some community college students.

Also if she is URM, athlete,musician, legacy, underprivileged or from an underrepresented school or town, she can do better than expected.

Don't believe the nonsense that everyone needs a great SAT score....my DC had similar grades and a 1500 SAT and did get rejected from their ED (but got into some decent state schools EA)...but some of their friends with lower SATs (under 1400) who did not submit them got into Wisconsin and Michigan...if your DD has good extracurriculars and shows serious interest in a target school that she loves, she can get in.

Honestly, I assume you have no idea how incredibly condescending your title is, but yeah. Your child is incredibly privileged, will go to college, will never work a trade, and just might go to a slightly less privileged/selective college than you were hoping.

Seriously. Check your privilege. Have some compassion and consideration for those parents whose children are hoping to go to and succeed at trade school.

Here are my kids stats and where he was accepted.

GPA (weighted)- 3.4
SAT- 1150

Accepted at Drexel, St, Joe's, Loyola MD, SMCM, UMBC, Towson, Manhattan College, JMU, La Salle. He was waitlisted at Fordham. Your kid will be fine. Relax.

My kid with lower stats then yours - 3.8W and much lower test scores - applied test optional and accepted to JMU, VCU, WVU, ECU, and Tennessee. Your kid will be fine.

My kid had lower stats and was accepted at 7/10 SLACs she applied to. They were ranked ~30-90 among that category of school on USNWR.

You need to seriously calm down (and stop spending time on this site).

My DC is a junior and is just starting to study for the ACT. This timeline is common in our DC private school. There is no reason your DC can’t study more and re-take the SAT. Plenty of time.
