Often when a friend or acquaintance starts to look noticeably better -- happier, relaxed, brighter skin, weight loss, confidence, eye contact -- I also know from talking to them or knowing them that they are recently dating or with someone. I assume it's the sex and with some of my closer friends they will actually say the sex is great or amazing.

I bet you always open the doors of those nice carS (plural noted) for your dates and perhaps wear a sporty seersucker and cap in summer. I am 51 and I'd give you a date based on your post.

healthy and fit? they don't look less attractive as they age, so long as you're aging alongside them.

But the decline into oldish and frankly just plain ol' old definitely happens for most every man, even the models and movie stars, by their mid 60s[i]. You still have a good and lucky 13 years to enjoy your older (but not yet old) man, so enjoy him.

Hell even Sting started to look oldish in his mid-60s into 70 and he lives a famously healthy lifestyle.

Josh Brolin still looks hot, but he is only 53. Not surprisingly he is still able to attract much younger women like his current wife Kathryn, who is all of 34, almost 20 years younger. Once he hits his mid-60s he will undoubtedly show his age as well.

Viggo Mortenson, who someone mentioned above, is an excellent example of the "man-aging" (and managing) principle, as at 63 his age has finally caught up to his good looks. Still very handsome, but now looks old(ish).

Women reach the equilibrium point, when age catches up with looks and surpasses them, even among the well-maintenanced and maintained, by their mid-50s, within a few years of menopause (sad but generally true). Diane Lane, Josh Brolin's ex-wife, is an example. She is now 56 years old, still so much more beautiful and attractive than any woman could hope to be, but yes firmly in mature woman territory.
