5 people (two adults, three elementary kids). I cook from scratch 5 nights a week (Sun-Thurs), order pizza or other “fast food” on Friday, and order nicer takeout in Saturday. Pre-pandemic, we went out on Sat nights. My husband doesn’t cook or plan the meals, but he does often do the shopping and does all the clean-up, which is fine with me since he’s a terrible cook even when I give him an easy recipe.

We cook 5-6 nights a week. We get takeout every Friday. We have 3 adults (2 parents and 1 grandparent) and 2 kids in the house. Us 3 adults take turns cooking. My husband isn't a very good cook so he usually ends up heating up leftovers or ordering out for one of his nights each week.

We cook 7 nights a week. Even before Covid we rarely got carry out or went to dinner. We do grab chipotle for lunch sometimes on sat or Sunday.

Why would 5 people make a difference? We thought family meals and cooking were important when we only had one kid. We cooked before kids too. I miss it. We used to hang out in front of the tv and eat together.

I am pretty sure that the author actually makes all of these things for her two young kids. Nothing is really fancy or creative. It's all just simple food that everyone likes.

Pre-covid, our church had in person Wednesday night dinners to socialize with the community. Now they offer curb side pickup, but you need to place your order by the previous Sunday. Prices are reasonable, and we get a salad, entree with two sides and dessert for less than $30 for the family. Something we look forward to every week!

Every night. We have two family members who cannot leave the house because of Covid or other health concerns, and they get a home-cooked meal every night. They're both elderly and not really into pizza. For the rest of the family, we all eat at home most of the time, too. So basically every night for 6-14 people depending on who is home.

Family of 4. Cook 4-5 nights. One night is take away and 1 night is leftovers or we go out for dinner. My husband and I try and go out for dinner one night a week. Our nanny helps with the cooking as we both work full-time. I sometimes have work dinners during the week as well (starting up again post-Covid). I use meal-kits during the week - box gets delivered on a Monday with 3 meals to cook. Other nights it's a simple pasta or fried rice, roast chicken, stir fries etc. I try and cook new recipes to give the kids some variety and I like cooking. Kids get cooked lunches at school so sometimes my 8 year old just wants cereal for dinner!

We take out maybe twice a month and even thenits only on BOGO pizza nights or chinese. Always less than $30.
