And I don’t think the middle of the omicron surge is the right time to get rid of masks. But I don’t want my kids masking forever. There will always be people saying they have kids who can’t be vaccinated (there isn’t going to be a vaccine for babies under 6 months) and school aged siblings will bring Covid home.

I want an option to unmask my fully vaccinated 5 yo that also just had COVID. This is ridiculous. He is learning to read and seeing faces is important. Many of just got COVID in this surge and are not cool with indefinite masking. No one knows when vaccines will drop for under 5. A couple weeks after peak and handle on hospitalizations is a good time for APS to drop the mandate.

Data on moderna’s under 5 vaccine is expected in March. https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/moderna-expects-covid-19-vaccine-trial-data-children-aged-2-5-march-2022-01-12/

I’m shocked your kid got COVID. 🙄 Maybe try masking next time. 🤞🏻 they don’t get long term complications. I’m sure they will be totally fine… COVID is just a mild cold.

He’s going to issue an order that parents can opt out. Miyares will be issuing a legal opinion on SB 1303 “maximum extent practicable” language re CDC regs to not applying to masking - forced masking of little kids for 2+ years when vaccines have widely available for a year now is definitely not practicable.

Chap, Morrissey and Republicans have legislation ready to permanently end all COVID mitigation in schools. Ridiculous this stuff is jammed down parents throats but businesses are free to do what they want.

No, what is ridiculous is that people won't apply mitigation practices themselves in all settings, business AND school.

I was willing to give the Republican party some time to distance itself from Trump, but Republicans preaching "personal choice" and "personal responsibility" when I have a child under 5 who is at risk for COVID complications and older, elementary school aged children have made me a Democrat for life. Maybe I'll be an Independent sometimes, but NEVER again a Republican.

Also, where is Republican fervor for "choice" when it comes to abortion? Why are Republicans so filled with righteous indignation over the life of an unborn child but couldn't care less about the life and health of my under 5 year old? Or the lives of immigrants. You sicken me.

When Mayares does that, he’ll immediately be sued and injunctive relief will be issued by the courts. There will be masks in APS at least through the winter. My guess is that they will start to be lifted starting in the spring, assuming things get under control. By next school year, no masks. Sadly.

Thankfully, although GY can remove a mandate, he can't stop localities from implementing their own rules. APS can still mask without a state mandate.

This is so crazy that there is a GoFundMe and there is no outrage from parents. It is such a reflection of the liberal mindset. They would much rather start a GoFundMe, post all over social media saying how great they are because they donated to it, then applauding each other for doing it, rather than push the school board to supply these products to the teachers and staff. The school board knows how to order and buy local to get these while they wait for their wholesale bulk order to arrive. And they have plenty of funding to do it.

Say what you want about APE but at the very least those parents actually try and actively do something and they often get results. AEM just sits around saying APE sucks and starting GoFundMe accounts so they can applaud each other over and over.

LOL. What exactly is APE doing? Throwing tantrums and misinterpreting data?

Right!? I've yet to hear concrete actions they are taking to get any results.

Guess you can't read. See the newsletter.
