Remember the ACPS Covid dashboard that was to be updated every Monday no later than 4 p.m.? It was last updated December 27th. I get that there was winter break and then a snow closure, but c'mon. Other districts are updating their dashboards (and with a lot more detail!) It's ridiculous that ACPS is playing the hide the ball with this info (or do they not even know?)
Why does it matter how many cases are in schools? They put daily case data for all of Alexandria online.

The masks are to help mitigate against a worldwide pandemic that has killed over 825K Americans, not a “cold.”
Guess how many Americans died in car craahes in the same time.
Not this whataboutism again. Do you not wear a seatbelt? Drive a car that has no airbags or an anti-lock braking system? Choose to drive with no mirrors, lights, bumpers? It is certainly worthwhile to encourage folks to take an extra preventative measure that may alleviate strain on hospitals.

Do you really want to get into a car accident while hospitals are now allowed to waive bed licensing requirements to increase bed capacity?

People like you is why I pulled my kid from ACPS this year in part because of its poor COVID mitigation approach. Otherwise, I would have to do everything I could to fight your “fight to death” in favor of extreme selfishness and putting your child, your child’s classmates and teachers, and the community at large at risk.

For heaven's sake. You are arguing over sending a kid in with a cloth mask versus an N95 mask? Are you one of those nutters who has been holed up in their homes for the past 22 months? Because you know that if you venture outside, then you will put your family and "the community at large" at risk?

Are you crazy? They're so much more comfortable and easier to breathe in than a cloth mask. You've clearly never tried one.

Oh, the freaking melodrama of it all.![]()
Seriously. KN95 and KN94 masks are legitimately more comfortable than a cloth mask. I've worn them for 8-10 hour shifts without any issue. They are clearly effective in my experience. My kids are 3 and 7 and they have absolutely no problem with them.
And that person should not speak for for all adults. If that's the hill you will die on, you need to find a better hill.
