What’s the age range you set for matches?
If you’re mid-40s, you should set it mid/late 30s to early/mid 50s. Lotta older guys set if for 20s/30s and then complain those women are shallow. No sh!t, people in their 20s are shallow (and too young anyway, perv).
Age-appropriate matches tend to be looking for the same things and older women care less about things like height.
If you have your age range set appropriately and aren’t creeping on women young enough to be your daughter, congratulations! You’re one of the more normal people on dating apps (minus your “times have changed” comment, that was weird. Men have always put their physical preferences first when choosing women, no reason women can’t do the same). You’ll soon find that 98% of the people on there, male or female, are trash. And you’ll spend more hours than you care to admit wading through the compost to find the jewel. Lol, get real. For every broke guy there are multiple broke women. The gender pay gap is alive and well and the gap between rich and poor is getting even larger. There will always be demand for rich guys regardless of how they look. Just look at the thousands of young women on Seeking

Exactly. This describes me. I do have a boyfriend for occasional fun weekends, who happens to be 5'6." I'm an inch taller. It doesn't bother me, he has so many other good qualities and is amazing in bed. My MAIN man is my handyman that I pay to do man sh*t. Love that guy! Also adore Lawn Guy, and Cleaning Lady. Who needs a husband?!

Luckily I am married to a tall guy. If I were ever single. I'd stay so before I change my preferences. I have been single most of my life so I am not afraid of being single.
This is the crux of the matter. Women are (biologically) pickier and content with being single or wait for the right man. Research backs up my hypothesis "the science backs it up: unmarried and childless women are the happiest subgroup in the population. And they are more likely to live longer than their married and child-rearing peers, according to a leading expert in happiness."
Men have stronger biological needs and are more sexually motivated to find partners. It is also harder for them to find sexual partners - everyone knows that saying "D* is plentiful and cheap". But again, those potential women are waiting for the right one and are just fine with the status quo, so the rejected men become more and more frustrated for being denied what they consider their "right" to sex and a relationship. Biologically, it makes sense, as coupled men live longer and healthier lives; so they need that woman to take care of them for longevity and to fulfill their sexual needs.

I believe this is the reason why we have so many incels today. In the old age, all women, including widows, were quickly married off and men were guaranteed a partner, especially as the mortality rate for males was pretty high prior to the adolescence. Today, this is no longer the case. Men are still being born at higher rates than women, they almost all survive childhood, and a lot of them can't find a woman. There's serious research out about the relationship crisis of the men who are not wealthy, tall, or have a successful careers in today's society.
Yep, hypergamy is definitely a thing and unfortunately due to unchangeable biology. Society should try to find ways for these rejected men to cope better though. Hopefully with advancements in VR technology and realistic dolls we'll be able to reduce the amount of frustrated incels.
