Order it from Williams Sonoma - the big one. Target does not sell the good ones. Or, buy the gift card for the amount at WS and tell her you didn’t know which color she wanted so she can select her favorite.

I was forced to watch that stupendously awful movie (Jingle All the Way) by my 12 year old on Monday. He’s binge-watching Christmas flicks and it has been a very painful experience.

OP, please heed the advice you’ve gotten here. If your wife told you she wants the 6qt one, the reason she did this was so you would not buy her the 5 qt model.

Not true for those of us who are bakers. My Kitchen-Aid is 25 years old and probably my most-used small appliance outside of the toaster oven. Get the woman what she wants. It will last a lifetime.

Nope adults in my family do not really exchange gifts that way. I would have bought what I wanted when I saw a good price.

If she specified the 6 qt and bakes frequently, it is likely the exact one she wants for reasons and she has looked into it.

If she rarely ever bakes she may not even realize there is a 5 qt and a 6 qt. She may have just sent you a link to ‘a mixer’ but wasn’t paying that close attention.

If you think she intentionally asked for the 6qt and you can’t find it, get her a gift card to Kitchenaid or WS with a sweet note and apology you weren’t able to buy before they sold out

It might not be the size, but the mechanism. Is the 6qt a lift bowl and the 5qt is not?

If she makes cookies and bread and cooks for large volume - double, triple batches - I would actually get her a Bosch.

If she just wants a stand mixer as a pretty item that looks nice on her counter and she’ll make whipped cream or mash potatoes once a year, the 5qt is fine as long as it’s in her preferred color.

I completely agree. I actually also have both the 5 quart and the 6 quart. I don’t see a big difference and prefer the 5 quart. But each to their own. If I didn’t have either, I’d be happy with whatever I got.
