LOL. Talk about pathetic. Yeah, I’m talking about you for being so invested in caring about schools you have nothing to do with.

Why Notre Dame,
Its not even mentioned here a lot

Wisconsin and Notre Dame are two schools that get a lot of deserved grief when their alumni try to pass them off as having among the most attractive campuses (sorry, but no), but the schools, student bodies, or academics at those schools don't get attacked like other those at other places.

Yeah, because heaven forbid any school that wasn’t prized a century ago improve itself and become prestigious. Same for people, if you weren’t born into wealth and privilege, don’t bother trying to earn your way up. ‘Striver’ is a word the insecure elite use to close ranks and protect their privilege. But guess, what—institutions change. And people, too.

“Striver” is reserved for those who try too hard to be a part of the “privileged” group when it would be less unseemly to succeed on their work and merit and really not care about prestige. It’s one of those things you can smell from a mile away, and you know it when you see it. It’s triggering to you because it calls out your deep seated insecurities.

Well then by your definition you positively reek of striver.

Burrrrrrnnnnnn. +1000.

Interesting. What are some strivery examples?

What a dumb phrase. All parents are striving to find the right fit and best education for their kids. All students want that. All colleges and universities want to provide this.

What schools on DCUM get the most hate? This is an easy answer: Any school that rejected a poster or poster’s child.

so much jealousy.

+1. Great school; great price for in-state. It was a true life-changer for my kid. Much of that was due to the fantastic faculty who helped him with internships and letters of recommendation.
