Having had a boyfriend for much of college, (which I pretty much just went along with because my friends had one, too), I very much would not encourage the having of boyfriends/girlfriends in college. Let the kids have some fun!

No doubt that this is all true, but I suspect many of us parents snoop social media in a similar fashion. Op just lacks our guile in admitting it.

No, it is not okay. You should not be concerned at all. He could be screwing around and not advertising it. He certainly does not need a committed girlfrlend at age 21 and I am sure he does not want to tell you that he has sex without a girlfriend label. I am shocked by this post.

Many men do not tell families about girlfriends unless they are in a serious relationship. He should not be in a serious relationship at age 21!

FWIW, my ex husband only introduced one girlfriend to his parents at age 34...that was me. I assume they knew he was screwing around before that...but it is not like he was going to tell them!!!
