Syracuse graduate here, and I agree completely. I told my kids they could apply if they wanted to, but I wasn't paying the exorbitant cost for an average education.
+1 there are plenty of other schools to choose from (public and private)

Couldn't your DC consider something like that? Many of my fellow Daily alum became acclaimed journalists and writers.
