Lol! It’s odd though, his name crossed my mind a little while ago.

I don't know. It hasn't even been a year. I still have hope that Biden will turn this ship around. 3 years is a long time- anything can happen!

The disrespect being shown to Eric Swalwell in this thread is infuriating.

Disagree. And also folks like you were saying the same in 2020. I think Republicans - and, I will add, far left progressives - think their way of thinking and their preferences is more widespread than it is. Bernie lost twice.

What was being said in 2020?

That Dems were guaranteed to lose, our bench was terrible, we had no hope, Trump was a shoo-in, etc. Dems in disarray.

+1 Biden was the lowest common denominator candidate and wow did the democratic machine lurch into panicked overdrive when it appeared Bernie was gaining momentum and had a legitimate shot at the nomination. The machine selected Biden and there’s no way he’s going to make it to 2024 so yea, that bench is empty of national level candidates.

Yang took his Democratic ball and went home.

You and me both.

I think Klobuchar would make an excellent President, but we don't have a great track record of electing people that would actually be excellent at the job. And the sexism. The rumors of her mistreating her staff will still dog her.

Spanberger should be developed as a future leader.

We’re they just rumors?

The point is that I can't think of any male candidate for office that has had stories printed about how he treats his staffers. And that's not because male candidates are paragons of virtue in this area, it's simply not treated as an issue.

+1. Both Jill Biden and Michelle Obama are a very dumb idea.

Right. But by 2024, most Californians with any sense or means will have already fled to TX, AZ, and or UT. Leaving mostly Newsom voters behind.

I agree with this. And hope that the GOP re-finds its way and recognizes that conservatives like Lisa Murkowski and Liz Cheney have guts and integrity. The Trump bootlickers (which includes pretty much all male Republicans) need to slink away in shame.
We need pragmatists with integrity on both sides to refind the way to reasonable compromises.
