Lehigh is located in Bethlehem which is a prosperous small city that's the wealthiest part of the Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton area -- the third largest metro area in all of PA, with all the jobs, shopping and cultural activities that implies. Bethlehem has an average household income of $96K, and its growing population reached a record in the 2020 census (how many other former steel communities can say that?). It has a well-maintained commercial area just outside Lehigh's campus that caters to students, and then a charming historic downtown a half dozen blocks away, and is just a 90 minute drive to Center City Philly and a 100 minute drive to Manhattan (yes, commuting distance for some). Compared to where other comparable schools are located, Lehigh's location is pretty ideal.

We visited this summer and she was a little turned off by what she called all the “white business bros.” I told her she was being too judgmental but out of the many school tours we took this was the only one where there was a competitive, kind of “I’m too cool to ask questions on the tour,” sort of chop on my shoulder vibe. Since then, she’s read about the intensity of Greek life and is probably not going to apply.
So your DD was upset that white men were attending the school?
There are different flavors of white people.
The whites as Wesleyan or grinnell are not the same as Lehigh/bucjnell
Tell us you're a judgmental, elitist liberal without telling us you're a judgmental elitist liberal.
? it is? thats news to me. I have a kid there and pay just about $30K per year. Are you talking about engineering, which does cost more?Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:$74k a year! Too rich for our blood -a family that never got merit and 100% EFC from FAFSA
