Our preschool said "by January" so there isn't really any time to find an appointment and line up both doses by then![]()
Wow! That is a really fast turnaround.
Fingers crossed our lets us space them out a little.
They only need to be spaced 3 weeks per the FDA. No one cares what some rando moms think they “should” be spaced. January is plenty of time-hop to it or find other options.
NP, I don't understand these responses. If allowing a parent to add a little time in between doses ends up with a child still vaccinated isn't that better than causing a parent not to vaccinate their kid at all because they are being pushed/shamed?
Let's not miss the forest for the trees in all our zeal.
DP. The preschool is obviously making the calculation that most parents will vaccinate their child so they don't have to pull their child from preschool. That is consistent with what we've seen with employer mandates - people make a big show of threatening to quit, but when push comes to shove, they get their shots (and some try to use junk science to "reverse" the shot lol). It's not like there are a ton of preschool slots available everywhere.
This is entirely different. I need my job and it's hard to find another one. There are other options other than private preschool, and there are lots of spaces in other schools that don't require shots available. Most preschools aren't requiring the shot because the risk/reward isn't there as others have pointed out.
