Most women have gained weight - especially since childbirth. That is natural, part of normal aging, and perfectly OK.

What’s not OK are unchecked behaviors so unhealthy that you are likely to die in your 50s or 60s from preventable causes like morbid obesity and a sedentary lifestyle.

How much weight gain since childbirth is normal?

OP, it was a hurtful and horrible comment. That being said, if you are failing to lose weight, particularly in the belly, you may have diastasis recti. It's common after pregnancy and makes you look "still pregnant." Can be fixed with PT.

Health has absolutely nothing to do with somebody being an asshole.

OP, worse than his rudeness is his inability to take responsibility for hurting you and blaming it on your “sensitivity”. He cares more about his ego than your feelings. That’s a problem.

Just - WTAF. I give up. You win. Here’s a bone or two:

- obesity is wonderful! Strokes are great! Who needs health? I hate fit/trim people! Michelle Obama was wrong about everything! Accept and celebrate fat people no matter what!

Do you think that if you engage in unhealthy behaviors it’s okay for people to be rude and disrespectful to you? Because people seem to be saying that when their response is diet advice.

Is he over weight?

Sure, it's insensitive, if you take it that way and he knew you would.

However, if he's even remotely over weight I'd turn that ship around so fat...

"No, (t)hubby, you can clean it with your roll this time..." and make an emphasis on the tubby... Weight issues go both ways. If my DH got heavy I might joke, unless he was sensitive, in which case I would try to help. DH is bald and we joke about that all the time. He knows I love him.

????? OP never said that she was morbidly obese OR sedentary! Really not sure where you’re getting any of this, but this is a little bizarre.
