I used to teach basic car control, high-performance driving, security driving, etc. At our basic courses, held at race tracks and skid pads, we began the sessions by asking who thought they were a "good"driver. Inevitably, nearly everyone would raise their hands. Then the day full of exercises and classes (physics of driving). Emergency braking, skid control, evasion (like if a kid jumps into traffic), etc.
At the end of the day, they class would be asked again. Who here thinks they are a "good" driver. No one would raise their hands.
Without real training, you are taught to operate a car. Generally, in a safe manner. But actually being a "driver" and in full control of an automobile? Not likely.

I laugh at all of you who think “you’re a great driver but terrible at parking”.

I may be a bit above average in being considerate like staying to the right, using turn signals, pulling over for ambulances, slowing down in school zones in the morning and afternoon, letting people merge, yielding to pedestrians. I don’t have a lot of ego wrapped up in cars/driving so I don’t need to be fast or first or whatever.

I’m a decent Parker. Can parallel park on both the lest and right.

I get nervous on rural country roads, especially when the weather is bad, the road has lots of turns, and I have to cross other main roads. When I'm in Europe, my brother drives in the mountains - I have a major issue with heights and I'm no longer great with the stick, so driving in Mallorca up the mountains is not my idea of fun. My most terrifying driving experience was being stuck between two 8 wheelers racing each other on a 2 lane road in Central VA. There was no place to pull over.
