Hamish Linklater, the priest will absolutely win an award. His sermons are amazing
+1
He is a revelation…no pun intended.

I get the vampire thing but it felt more like a show about the frailty of humans and the terrible things they will do in search of solace and safety. Loved when Riley’s mom said “we talk about heaven as this wonderful place but we are all scratching for extra moments here at the end” or something to that effect.
That’s a hallmark of director Mike Flanagan’s style. His horror has spooks and ghouls, but it also includes human horrors which aren’t supernatural at all. I totally understand an earlier PP crying at the end. His work is as touching as it is scary.

NO, the two kids are on a canoe plus the vampire gets away with flapping wings. Google it. It was so successful they are planning no 2.

Greed? It’s about vampires messing with a priest who mistakes him for an angel. Where’s the greed (other than the line about Bev misusing church funds I just don’t see it)
Greed for more life than you are entitled to!

The media fallout if that. Plus it is not obvious that the angel died

It was supernatural in a way. I did fast forward some sermons.
The town people seemed genuine, realistically the good type of people you could imagine to live somewhere that remote.
Interestingly they had enough kids to keep a school up and functioning.
I wonder if there is going to be season 2
