Well we just bought a Hyundai last Saturday and it is already in the shop lt has an intermittent problem changing gears and we fond out today that the transmission needs to be replaced. We have to wait fr a new transmission to arrive from Korea. I’ve only bought new cars in my life and this is my first one with serious problems. I should have stuck with Honda.

Update::: I am currently hopeful. The local Hyundai dealer has replaced the bum transmission with a brand new one and called us to come pick it up today. During the wait for the repair we were given a nice loaner car to use in the interim. I am pleased with the smooth way that the problem has been handled by the dealer and hopeful that the car will be “as good as new”. 😊

My friend’s 4 year old Q7 is on its third set of brakes and rotors. Low mileage, all maintenance done on time.

He must be riding the brakes.

I once had a car that needed brakes and rotors constantly. Never had this problem with a car since.

Tell your friend to ease up on the brakes.

Why would your friend tell you this? Discussions of my car repairs don’t ever come up with my friends.

This might not be anyone else's cup of tea, but I spend a lot of time on the road out out west, and I love my eco-diesel Jeep Rubicon which is fitted out to camp in back. I go off road and into some dicey settings in the mountains, and it is perfect for me. Love it.

I can't lie, right now I absolutely love my mini-van so I'd vote for that.

Post mini-van, I think I'd go smaller SUV. Maybe Acura if I wanted something nicer than Honda . I'm basic.

Just an FYI but my brother has an ascent he has had nothing but problems with it. I have driven it a few times and the tech in it is terrible. The Subaru eye-sight or whatever it is called gets confused all the time and tries to crash the car on the freeway.

The nightfall trim is my current dream and I am just about to write the deposit check but worry if it will hold up for 10 years without major problems. We need a new 3 row SUV around $50k (would love less but it’s where I find myself with the features I want.)

Ditto. I know it’s not recommended to purchase the extended warranty, but was able to get it for $650. Extending the bumper to bumper to 100k to match the 10yr/100k power train and extending the electronics to 6yr/60k. I don’t know what it is about this car, I have never loved a car so much in my life. I got the Nightfall trim as well. Black on Black. (I’m the Telluride poster that keeps popping up in this forum )
