I don’t think being a “car enthusiast” equates with any sort of status. The people I know who are really into cars fell into money (like inheritance or good timing with a stock offering) and/or having a midlife crisis and seeking some sort of symbol to make them feel special.

I can’t imagine getting excited over an object as basic as a car. If you spend enough of your life in a car to be an enthusiast about what you drive, then you’re probably boring.

I wouldn't mind tooling around in a Saab or getting my hands on a Land Cruiser. They are hard to come by.

Volvo is a deliberate choice and says you did not opt for a Pilot or Highlander or their "flashier" counterparts.

I personally like Ford SUVs a lot and have had good luck with them.

Buying Volvo was smart of Geeley, how hands on are they? Is it design, development, and engineering all still done in Sweden? Or have they incorporated Geeley supply and product lines into their production?

We bought Memorial Day weekend and it was 68k. I think that they are harder to get now. There is also a $5200 tax credit when we file next year. Another cost was the EV charger we had installed. That is optional as you can just plug it into an outlet if you want. We like the fast charger though because we want to be able to keep it charged throughout the day.
