Good look at google earth. Looks like a bunch of oil storage facilities and a small town. Where is the military base?

Don’t know but I’d be pretty shocked if Iran had billions of oil infrastructure sitting on an island with no defenses.

It’s an island with restricted access. Maybe they have a a security guard and a police forces? The US LNG and oil port facilities have no military presence.

Nevertheless, don’t we (U.S., Israel) essentially have the same defensive profile? Are the Iranians concentrating their efforts around attacks on U.S. assets, and realizing greater success due to that asymmetrical focus?

The sense I have is that their “success” is moderate, at best, but still - it seems like they must be intentionally focused away from Israel. At least that’s the appearance to me.

The stupidity of this is that there are so many exposed energy facilities and other infrastructure in America. Tens of thousands all around the country. Now it would be wise to protect every single one of them for the next 50 years because of these war crimes against people that posed no imminent threat to America.
