The decisions made this year will come to head when the team is not competitive
The inevitable trashing of the girls who made Blue. Started a bit earlier than I would’ve thought but ‘28s are special.
Seriously. I would take the other side of that bet. Looks like a pretty athletic and dynamic group.
Not sure what this means. I was referring to how soon people were trying to crap all over the Blue team. I agree they are good. Just thought the criticism would’ve waited a day or two.

Pride was already top 10, now with the new goalie and most of the other pickups, they'll be highly competitive. The Orange team, however, are full of a few remaining pride girls and a number of SSSA girls (who you could argue ONLY made the team due to attending SSSA). There were a number of more talented girls who did not get offers.
I would say the Blue team will be fine, the Orange won't break top 80.
Someone a long time ago asked what you needed to do in advance of Capital tryouts to put you on the short list. The answer is clear 1) Play for Pride (Katie...or whoever runs the program now) can't retain talent once they hit HS and 2) attend SSSA where Kathy Jenkins throws her weight around and gets her sub-par SSSA girls offers.
If true, why would anyone at this level want their daughter to play on a team that has sub-par players who did not earn their way on the team?

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Agreed. Anyone that thinks the last 2 or 3 of that lineup are better than the top 5 or 6 at Stars, not to mention others, is delusional. Several have been carried by the group, and the parents know who they are.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:So you’re saying prides whole starting lineup. Not sure I see that but ok.
Not really how that works. Middies sub and lines are adjustable.
Thanks for that insightful view of a lacrosse teams inner workings. My point is that are there truly 12 blue level players on pride. I don’t see that on that team. It will also depend on who else shows up from other clubs who could be better.
No one has argued that the last 2 or 3 at Pride are better than the top 5-6 at Stars. That was a straw man.
I believe that the people who are saying 4 for Stars are low. There are some really good players, as well as others with athletic potential. I'm thinking 6 at least from Stars. 10-12 from Pride. 1 from True. Then we'll see.
Wow. That hits every book's over.Anonymous wrote:Another thread said 8 or 9 made blue from Pride.
They absolutely can be. Plus, they got the top of Pride's Loudoun group out at tryouts. We'll see if the scales tip from the titans in the 28s.Anonymous wrote:I’m not overly familiar with either Stars or Pride. Setting aside what seems to be a major rivalry between you two, can someone tell me how Stars is predicted to do next year now knowing who is leaving the team? I see historically they drop significantly in the rankings in 9th grade. But sounds like the Capital selections have people somewhat baffled, so wondering if Stars could still be competitive their freshman year?
I'm sure they'll clear it all up at the initial post-acceptance meeting.Anonymous wrote:So wait…you tryout for pride and then have to tryout for a highlight team and hope you make that for extra looks? How much is that? What if you don’t make the highlight team? Are the the B team of your Pride team?
