I'm not a repub, but I attended school here and see the elementary programs in particular becoming very poor. Most of the people I know who are repubs have taken their kids out of the school system actually, so in actuality I think the community as a whole is more conservative than the average FCPS parent.

The peadership is split 50/50 D/R. They are hoping to primarily focus on issues that are student centered, education centered, and which most parents from most political perspectives agree upon.
That group seems to be very skilled with bringing in sunshine through foia requests. They also see to be really in tune to special ed issues.
I hope they are able to build and grow so there is a local parents group to be a voice for students and to get a seat at the table.
Anything associated with openfcps is tainted as a MAGA Group, rightly or wronglfy.
Because they are. Full stop.
Anyone aligned with 2019 R endorsed SB candidates, when the Fairfax GOP continues to be ALL IN on Trump, even though he isn't even in office anymore, is a MAGAt. Sorry not sorry.

How can you be tired of a Republican school board when fcps hasn't had one in over a decade?
If you are tired of anything, it should be the 10 years or so od a democratic school board.
+100
I absolutely welcome Republican candidates. Better yet, non-partisan. But we know that’s not going to happen, so I’d be happy with moderate Republicans and common sense.
