Where in your paradigm do you fit low vaccination rate, low income areas in DC, Balto, Philly, and NYC? All the cities have maps online and it’s clear the differences within the cities are disturbing.

Pattern of low vaccination rates in poorer areas follows almost universally even in one-party deep blue cities. Red states simply have a much higher-% of poor people, including many poor minorities.

Then why does the Georgetown neighborhood, according to that map, have one of the lowest vaccination rates? All those poor people living there? Or is it all the Republicans living there?

Regardless, these are the 5 least vaccinated states, which coincidentally have some of the highest percentage of support for Donald Trump.

Mississippi - 29.9% fully vaccinated
Alabama - 32.9% fully vaccinated
Arkansas - 34.5% fully vaccinated
Louisiana - 35.3% fully vaccinated
Wyoming - 35.4% fully vaccinated

Georgetown has a denominator problem with the student population, there are people that are hard to track due to having two residences and that problem has been heightened by closed dorms/remote learning . There's an issue of double-counting that's well known in demographics. It's utterly predictable. You'll note the area near GWU and CUA also have the same issue.


And all of those 'Trump states' have vast numbers of poor people. 2016 and 2020 saw Dems win big in rich counties and the GOP win big in poor counties. But it's fascinating to note the over-arching rule is poor people don't get vaccinated at anywhere near the rates of the better off. The political affiliation narrative is what has been drilled into peoples heads and they struggle to see anything else.

DP, but you are ignoring the bar chart posted above, that shows that GOP are the largest group of anti-vaxxers in the US. Yes, poor people are hard to reach and African-Americans have a reason to be distrustful, but the numbers don't lie.

People can classified into many, many groups with different overlapping characteristics dependent on the person. Saying one or the other group is the 'largest group of anti-vaxxer in the US' isn't anywhere near as easy and simple as you pretend it to be.
