You wish, VDA has girls ECNL and the DA program. We aren’t going anywhere chump.
You’re correct. You’ll just spin up a new entity and call it VECNL, because you get an F for effort when it comes to name creativity.... chump.
You’re a f****** idiot! The name “Virginia Development Academy” has nothing to do with the “DA” Who gives a s*** if VDA holds the DA in it. Try and get a life and understand that the phrase Development Academy can be used for all sorts of things. Now I know your little mind can’t wrap around this concept but try to follow along. Anyone can use that name regardless of it’s affiliation.

NWSL should (but wont) don't the same (no money).
Now, instead of running a overly expensive youth league, USSF should fully fund NWSL academies for girls.
ITS THAT EASY!
BEST OF THE BEST ONLY.
SCOUTING TO GET RECOMMENDED AND ACCEPTED.
NO LOCAL COACHES WITH TIES. NO LOCAL COACHES WITH INFLUENCE.
Caps lock was annoying but yes love the idea of funding NWSL and MLS academies.

The only way VDA still exists in the future is if VSA and PWSI merge clubs and just call the merger VDA

2. CLUE: When a coach of a YNT (NC Courage) leaves the DA for ECNL it should have told you something.
3. VA going south plays Spring HS soccer while MD going north plays Fall HS soccer. As a result, they will never be in the same conference.
3. NOVA already has 4 ECNL teams. They will not go to (7) with the addition of FCV, Arlington and METRO. Mclean will argue that they are suffering because of Arlington DA and Loudoun will argue they are suffering because of FCV.
Now, I believe that FCV will get the bid and Mclean will benefit with the Arlington not getting a bid. However, I truly believe that Arlington should get the bid because they are a huge organization with a true pipeline and they will complete all the "corners" of NOVA (Loudoun (Loudoun), Prince William (VDA), Arlington (Arlington), BRYC / McClean (Fairfax).
Either way, Mclean will ultimately benefit from being squeezed in between Ashburn and Arlington.
Pipe dream or a good idea fairy. Not gonna happen
Metro will not get ECNL. Again, Mclean is the beneficiary.
4. Current MA conference has 11 teams. With the addition of NC Courage and or FCV/Arlington, that will push the two South Carolina teams to the SE conference where they will they will join Tophat, et al. If both Arlington and FCV get a bid, it will push Charlotte to the SE conference. The SE conference will then be a very good conference. Less travel.
5. Losing Charlotte and CESA and picking up Arlington / FCV is a wash.
6. Travel for the MA division should never require a overnight hotel stay unless its a double header weekend.
7. I believe more regional showcases are in the future so you can been seen by local college coaches (MA Showcase, SE Showcase, NE Showcase, etc). No need to go to FL, AZ to be seen by east coast schools.
MA division could look like this:
Richmond
VDA
Mclean
BRYC
Loudoun
FC Virginia
Arlington
NC Courage
NCFC (Courage 2nd team per argument)
NC Fusion
Wilmington
CESA and Charlotte dropping to SE conference

So, in summary you have a leadership change that happened essentially in the dark of the night as a result of a lawsuit, that made an arbitrary, large scale decision to scuttle an organization. The new leadership tipped off cronies of a competing organization and business associates in a member club so they could bail out before the storm, which obviously fueled the rumor mill. That club will potentially financially benefit at the expense of others who were not afforded that insider information.
Any lawyers on this thread who are DA parents? My sense of what’s happened here is that it’s at the very least unethical and possibly illegal.
Regardless, not a good start for a new regime in a questionable organization, historically.
If someone sues please also sue the USWNT, the NWSL, and China!

Similar to ECNL not responding to the rumors that US Soccer may procure and fold it into a USSF DA program. No response from ECNL on that rumor as well.
True. But ECNL boosters have been waging war against USSF for years while USSF has simply worn the velvet glove in return.
USSF made a few major mistakes in handling the DA program which has allowed ECNL to persist and grow and that’s been part of the issue. If the federation has any fortitude, they would change the way they are doing business to make DA more attractive than ECNL for clubs, and if they were to do that along with restricting national team berths to DA clubs, they’d win the competition in a walk.
So you actually think that being in DA should be a requirement for national team? Nobody else? That's an interesting take.
Should the federation responsible for the national teams be able to develop players in an academy of their making by rules they have created to optimize player development. Absolutely. This should make sense to you as well.
