What a strong leader actually says:
"You are not wanted in this great commonwealth. Shame on you. You pretend that you are patriots, but you are anything but a patriot. You want to talk about patriots, talk about Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, who brought our country together. Think about the patriots today, the young men and women, who with wearing the cloth of our country.
Somewhere around the globe they are putting their life in danger. They are patriots. You are not. You came here today to hurt people. And you did hurt people. My message is clear, we are stronger than you. You have made our commonwealth stronger. You will not succeed. There is no place for you here. There is no place for you in America."
Bs, fake news, call it what you will, trump did condemn it. Or can't you read?
It's longer and full of prettier language but doesn't address the root issue. It's not truly a strong statement because it isn't honest. The attitudes of those terrorists are not rare. The men he listed where white supremacists as well ( no I don't believe we should tear down their statues), but we have to admit that this nation was founded and built on white supremacy. Acts and attitudes of hatred have not gone away. The governor means well I'm sure, but to act like what happened yesterday was an anomaly, that the statutes, don't exist in the town, in the state in the country, that they aren't entwined in the fabric is simply not honest.
Until our leaders can admit that and tackle that, sad to say but there is a place for them in America.
I agree that the foundation of the country was built on racism and greed. The annihilation of Native Americans is testament to that. However, the governor was fully able to say what Trump could not or would not say was that there was no place for white supremacists in Virginia or America. Trump could not say it, bottom line.
I know it wasn't enough for you but it's a start.

Exactly.
I condemn white supremacists and black supremacists. I'm sorry for the lives lost. It's terrible. I don't think one side shouting louder then the other makes them right on tearing down statues or any other matter. It's time for a return to civil discourse and courts deciding if it comes to that. Good people can disagree and one doesn't always have to be wrong for the other to be right.

This can't be said enough. If you voted for Trump--blood is on your hands.
Last i checked this rally was about a statue not trump. Liberals want the bad statue down and will tantrum anyone who opposes. So why are they pro immigration saying that their cheap work is needed to support the economy? Why do they think white, black (yes some freed ones owned slaves), and native americans wanted slaves for free work? Pure greed.
Well said. Thank you.

Mcawful is clearly running for President in 2020. Too bad he didn't say the same thing after Dallas, Orlando, Berkeley, Baltimore, which were all fringe people in a movement that highlighted segregation. There are many, but we point out the few.
Maybe because he's not governor of TX, FL,CA, or MD? Just a guess.

Your parents failed. You. This we are the world everyone needs a place at the table mess is why we have these issues. Everyone does not need a voice at the table. There is no middle ground and by saying you don't want to pick sides, you already have and it's damn shame.
Heather Heyer is the name of the woman the Nazi killed.
