Do you people even understand how these things work?
I understand how they work. Investigations won't come to a "screeching halt" but they can and will be targeted to minimize political fallout for Team Trump. With Comey and his god complex, we would get an independent investigation controlled by Comey's personal (and biased) ethics system. But that independence is exactly what worries Trump. He wants an investigation that will exonerate him.

Is this a trick question?
It's zero. The answer is always zero.
Unfortunately, that is true for Democratic members of Congress as well. They are literally no better.

Oh yay! You're scoring a point so we can keep the even! Tit-for-tat is all that matters in team sports, er I mean, politics.
It's beside the point whether Democrats have spines or not!!!
Right now it's the Republicans are the ones faced with an incompetent megalomaniac grifter at the head of the party. It's the Republicans who need to find some principle and actually serve the public.
Both sides need to act in a principled manner to serve the country. It does not help when the Democrats - including the leadership - were expressing their lack of confidence in Comey and wanting him out then reversing course after Trump fires him.

Schumer? I heard MConnell; Schumer makes better sense.
Why the hell would McConnell call Democrats to a meeting? You can't spell either.
Seriously, Comey is now a private citizen. He can't talk about classified matters but he can talk about a lot more than he could as head of the FBI. Does 45 seriously think Comey was the only one making an investigation? He's not personally the one meeting with grand juries. Trump has stepped in it.
Ahh but won't a new FBI director put a stop to the investigation?
A new FBI director won't stop the Senate investigation, such as it is. And if there are subpoenas and sealed indictments, as is rumored, then it's a bit late to stop the FBI investigation.

Dude, the power to take down the PoTUS is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more valuable than a cush job at Bridgewater.
He has his whole life to make money. But you only get one or two moments in time to make history.
I thought Bridgewater - at least under Dalio - was about COMPLETE transparency. taped meetings, no talking behind anyone's back
Does any official fit THAT role?

Apropos of nothing, I want to say in writing that on three separate occasions, you told me that I am not under investigation for the Russia investigation. So now if it turns out otherwise, you are really going to have egg on your face.
And on totally unrelated news, you are fired.
Donald J. Trump
PS - You also told me I'm taller than you are and have amazing big hands.
