Au contraire! As a UK resident, but Virginia-born US citizen with grandparents and parents from Ontario, Kansas, and Boston, I’m fascinated by Laura T’s accent. In fact, I love listening to her because the accent sounds like a mix of West Country and places in the US South. Nasal or not, she has important things to say. And I could listen to her all day.
Incidentally, many people mistake me as Canadian, a relief while The Donald was in office.

Finally we can put this ridiculous thread to bed.

If it's so ridiculous, what does it say about you that you felt compelled to post?

Her accent left much to be desired but she is a woman of admirable qualities and I wish her all the best in her new endeavor

Just listened to her on YouTube for the first time ever. I’ve been slightly annoyed this thread keeps popping up because I have no idea who she is….but my God! She really does sound awful!!!!!

I have resorted to captions.

It has been so good not to have Travelyan on the BBC News. We are all hoping she is off the air for good.

Where is Laura? Has she been replaced? I hope so. We have suffered too long with that dreadful accent!

OMG, her accent is getting worse! I was Watching BBC America and could barely understand her! She has lived in the US for years so why is her English unintelligible? Actually, I'm just guessing that she was speaking English.
