My brother got into HBS with a completely undistinguished college/work record (3.0 GPA, lowerling at a trade journal for 2 years after). B-school and K-school seem pretty similar to me (ditto Ed school). By contrast, HLS drew people with top grades and scores; I assume that the same is true of the med school.
From a college admissions legacy standpoint, "real" Harvard = College. And only your parents count these days.

After all, JFK was a notorious womanizer who dragged his feet on civil rights and his brother approved bugging MLK's hotel rooms. He bought elections and palled around with pals of mobsters. And talk about white privilege!

Because her parents are graduates of Columbia, Harvard and Princeton. I'd expect anyone's offspring with those credentials to be Ivy League material.
My parents have three Harvard degrees between the two of them. The real ones, not the Kennedy School stuff. I was not Ivy League material. My sister was, however--albeit at a lesser Ivy. But I had to settle for a top 25 public school.

Wait, what? Please inform those of us not in the know about this sort of thing..why is Kennedy School not consideted a "real" Harvard degree?
HKS is a LOT easier to get into than HBS, HLS, or HMS.
HKS grads are very very very different than the other three (though there are certainly grades of the other 3 that get degrees at hks but that's not who i'm talking about)
