Same here. I was waiting for someone to resurrect it.. and you people didn't disappoint.

So skirts it is. I find them more comfortable than capris, since you get more air on your legs when you wear them.
Sigh. The knees. Ugh. I'm 47 and my legs have always been my best feature--no veins, olive skin, very muscular with no cellulite--former soccer player and runner---but the knees are starting to go south. The skin all around the knees for even the fittest women as they age eventually goes--then it goes crepey. There is little hope.
I get so hot in the summer that I can't stand anything on my legs. I also do skirts or T-shirt dresses. I will wear shorts on a run or hike though. My DH still loves me legs and thinks the knee thing is in my head--but I see it starting.

Seeing as this thread is six years old and both it and capris are still with us, I expect that this battle won't end anytime soon.

Yep, that's it. I am fat and don't look good in capri pants, and that's why I think no one (fat or thin) looks good in capris.![]()
Try again. I'm young, fit, 5ft7 and ~120lbs... and it's pretty likely I also look like shit in capri pants. I wouldn't know because I was a preteen the last time I wore them.
I mean this as a friendly message, truly. It is not an insult to anyone's body type, it is the style of clothing itself that is horrible. If you adore your capris and think they are flattering, by all means, keep wearing them. I knew the message of my OP wouldn't be popular, but you've been warned. Out of the many people I saw today (of all body types), none was wearing the mythical flattering cut.
Believe me, you are not being friendly, you are being a bitch.
