No Ivies yet. Our oldest got pulled off May 14th. I checked my old calendar.

We are aware of some moving off of Cornell.

That is just sad!! Our CC refused to call the school to advocate for my kid as he thought the school they have committed to is a good fit.

It’s sad that your kid isn’t getting an unfair advantage? You’re just mad you didn’t hire a counselor that would give the advantage you hoped for.

Surely PP's kid is at a private school - no one in public would expect this. The problem is that school counselors value the success of the cohort as a whole, or even that of several cohorts, more than the success of an individual student. If the CC doesn't think a school is the right fit, she might not want to spend the capital with a call and exhaust her influence with a school. CCs have a lot of power.

Our private doesn’t make those calls either. We asked.

Well, YES. You can’t be deposited at two colleges at the sane time. You put down deposit and secure spot and new school and then immediately notify/withdraw from the first one.

You don't have to do that if you're willing to lose 2 deposits. In some cases, that may make sense.

No! You can get booted from both schools if you are deposited at two.

Not necessarily in this environment. Many schools fell short on their yield and are still offering money.

And how are they supposed to know about other deposits anyway?
