I just looked at a bunch of traffic cameras on VDOT’s website and I think Reid will give them a delay tomorrow.

I don’t know why, but after every storm we have like this the plow truck leaves a huge gap between the curb and the plow. Does anyone else notice the same? Just curious. There aren’t even any cars parked on the street.


Ugh yes- I HATE this. The plows push the snow into a high mound at the end of my driveway. So hard to move.


Honestly, I’d be happier if the pushed snow was at least at the end of our driveway. We have to shovel about 15’ from the end of the driveway into the road just to get to clear the snow the plow left.


Same. We were lucky and a plow came yesterday but it does one path in the middle of the road. It’s so far from our driveway and leaves a huge ridge, that we have to shovel really far to even get to. Last winter it never came at all down our street so I guess we are better than last year.

We also tried to keep up with shoveling yesterday, but we had about 2 inches of "snow" this morning that was actually closer to ice. Have to use a metal garden shovel to break up the snow and then either pick up and throw the blocks or shovel the blocks of ice. It's hard work. And we have plenty of neighbors who didn't shovel at all yesterday so have about 8 inches of that to move. Hoping that the sun will help even though it's cold.

Closed all week for sure. The snow is not moveable at this point.

The plow came down my street early yesterday and has not been back yet, so the road is pretty much impassable. I have cleared my sidewalk and driveway but clearing the road myself is not possible, way too long.

I was just out there trying to make a dent in some of my unshoveled areas. It's a block of ice. I'd probably need a sledgehammer to break it up into heavy ice chunks. This is really, really bad.

My neighborhood road looks fine from my window (I'm in Fairfax Station), but I can't get out of my driveway. The driveway itself we might be able to deal with given enough salt and sand, but the plows piled up about 3 feet of snow across the top of it (it's on a hill) and that's now a wall of ice. A literal wall.
