So he should have rejected the endorsement? He needs the base to turn out if he has any hope of winning.
Mitt Romney accepted Trump's endorsement in 2018, then voted to convict in both of Trump's impeachments. Things might have turned out differently if there had been a few more Mitt Romneys in the Senate.
