She isn't being paid to play, she is being paid to use her image and name to promote the club.

Considering how much the past FCV administration has pushed her success as their own success standing ovation for her to cut a deal like this. Good for her.

If her eligibility gets challenged, receiving the check from the club will make her ineligible under NCAA rules

The idiocy here is just mind-boggling. You have no idea what you are saying. There is zero chance she did not clear this with USYNT and UGA.

Assuming it’s even true she was paid, which no one on this board actually knows. Whether or not she did, good for her and good for FCV.

Good for FCV? Paying a teenager to stay at their club? I don’t think that’s good for anyone.

Just speculation, no facts on this forum!

Coaches.... when are next year's coaches actually going to be announced? Last year they already had them public and not everyone's sticking around defending on who is brought in to replace GA coaches.

I don't know Adam, where do you think they are coming from?

Clearly a bunch will come from FCV, but 2012 FCV is not nearly as strong as older FCV teams, so VRSC presumably is trying to average up with players from clubs like Loudoun who don’t make an ECNL team. My question is whether they are having much success pulling from other clubs or if they’ll mostly be fielding current FCV and VRSC players for the 2012 GA team.

Maybe not dead yet, but once the GA teams take the field, there will be a significant drop off in interest for this club.

LOL. That's the best one I've heard today. It's a desperate attempt by the club to hold onto anything. Maybe, just maybe, it'll entice some younger players to stay/join, but the impact at the older age groups will be negligible, and the older teams will struggle mightily next year.....

Both can be true—even if it doesn’t help older age groups it can still help the club survive to fight another day by enticing new young players to join.
