I guess they were hoping Messi shows up so they can make an immediate offer. Then when he did not, they decided to tell everyone to come back in April.
ID's are not tryouts. ID's just happened, tryouts happen later in the spring. Of course, offers went out to the most talented girls already as the result of these ID's. SYC knows the tide needs to settle on the FU coaching debacle, and they are likely sitting comfortably waiting for more Union families to reach out. EM knows all these families and they all have his number. They won't get everyone to return to SYC from Union, but they already have some of the best players committed I bet. Before anyone loses their shyte, I said some not all, so prematurely telling you to relax. Will there be more shake-ups? Of course and then there is May 1 looming when MD club players are on the open market to be considered by VA clubs. Everyone who warrants a spot will get one on some team in NoVa given the landscape switch, and for those who don't I hope you and yours have it all in perspective.
There’s not much difference between the two except at tryouts, they need to get it 99% finalized. If you didn’t get an immediate offer after the ID, they don’t think you’re worthy.
well... they don't think you're worthy until they have seen the entire pool of talent. Player could be a maybe but not definite starter that they want to lock down.
That's not always true.
Sometimes clubs don't give certain players offers because the parents are a PITA, or maybe the kid is a troublemaker, etc.
You can always give these type of players offers later on if nobody else wants them either.
What’s PITA?

If you are a parent, you want your kids to play against tough competition, your kids aren't going to get better. Also, ECNL just statistically gets more college scouts at their events. I couldn't care less about ECNL or GA, these are just facts
Why do you care so much about this? 2012 SYC is a fun group of talented and competitive girls, and their coach will be a fun guy with an A license. Yes, they may very well go undefeated. Which part of this sounds bad to you? Five or six years from now, they may be playing in the wrong league. Really???
And simply wrong too. Competition was just as intense for us at GA then ECNL… more exposure at GA. Coaches loves giving GA girls offers without even having to go to their ID sessions. Ever wondered about that?
